Background

DaveParents400px.JPGDave Peiser grew up in North Babylon, New York. He is the eldest of three children of Norman and Rose Peiser. Dave’s father, a retired health insurance sales executive, grew up in the Bronx. His mother, a homemaker who later worked as an accountant, was born and spent her early years in China, where many Jews found safety from persecution during the first half of the 20th century. Her family left China in 1948 and made their way to New York.

Peiser has a family legacy of engagement in electoral politics, including his father’s run for County Legislator on Long Island, against an entrenched Republican incumbent.  Peiser worked for several campaigns in the 2012 election, including a Congressional campaign in the 49th congressional district.

Education and Employment Experience

Dave holds a Master of Business Administration degree from New York’s Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering.

Peiser worked at the international company Siemens Medical in New Jersey and in California. He spent two years working for Siemens-Elema in Solna, Sweden, where, as Product Manager, he managed the marketing and development of an Angiographic Analysis and Reporting System with annual sales of $2.5M. He also managed worldwide support for a Cath Lab Recording System with 700 installations worldwide.

After various healthcare related positions and consulting engagements, Dave founded Peiser Solutions in 2001 - an IT consulting firm servicing small businesses primarily in San Diego County. In 2008, Peiser co-founded Greenliness.com, an online retail business providing earth-friendly sustainable products and education.

Community, Civic and Political Engagement

DaveEncinitas1_400px.jpgFrom 2004-2008, Dave served on the Board of Directors of the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce, including two years as membership chair. He became an active member of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce in 2002.

In 2009, Peiser joined the board of the non-profit Class-ACT, and was elected Board President that same year. He traveled to Cambodia, in an inaugural visit to a school in Phnom Penh that had been part of an art exchange with San Diego students. The group conducted an art project for children at the school, as well as at an orphanage that rescues children from the city dump. Visits with the children’s parents, and observations of their living conditions was the inspiration for a microloan program called Microloans for Mothers. The non-profit recently extended its efforts to include local projects in Vista and San Marcos, California, working in partnership with the La Maestra Foundation.

Dave is a board member at the Encinitas School of Music; and he is a founding member of the Solana Beach ECO Rotary Club, whose mission is, as Rotarians, to promote environmental sustainability and to be stewards of the earth.

Peiser is a community advocate and activist who speaks at City Council meetings, engages with local leaders, and volunteers for many service, civic, and community groups. In 2013 he traveled to Washington D.C. with the group Citizen’s Climate Lobby to lobby congress on climate change policies.

A Candidate with Proven Leadership

Dave Peiser is taking his professional experience and community involvement to the next level.  His grassroots leadership has led to a calling which has transformed his passion for political engagement into an exciting Congressional campaign.

Dave has resided in what is now the 49th Congressional district for over 25 years. As a community member, business professional, and advocate, Dave’s experience, passion, and stand on the issues that matter to our community, prove him a compelling Democratic candidate and dynamic contender against our current representative, Darrell Issa.

Dave thrives in organizational, community, and political arenas and has an ability to gain the trust and cooperation of all parties with whom he works.  For example, as a Project Manager at Scripps Health he took initiative and led a successful communication effort that fostered understanding between Scripps employees, corporate leaders, and facilities managers. He works well in multicultural and geographically dispersed organizations, managing projects successfully by listening and understanding. Working with diverse communities, having international, national, regional and local experience, Peiser demonstrates cultural competency, working responsibly and respectfully with communities possessing different values.

Dave is a member of local democratic clubs, maintains ongoing relationships with local and regional politicians, and has lobbied Congress in Washington, gaining the trust and respect of leaders with whom he has met. Peiser is an involved local community member of the 49th District who understands the need to enhance and preserve our lifestyle, including protection of our beaches and clean water.  As your Congressman, he will work to encourage renewable energy projects and work to bring jobs to our community.

Dave Peiser is dedicated to improving the socio-economic reality for the working and middle classes. A parent volunteer while raising his son, who is now in college, Peiser is a champion for public education. He is an advocate for human rights who supports the Dream Act and will fight for meaningful immigration reform legislation, for the protection and progress of women’s equality, as well as ensuring collective bargaining rights. A Climate Change advocate, Dave cares about our environment and the legacy we leave future generations.
