Peiser for Congress Campaign Receives Contributions from all 50 States

Dave Peiser, the Democratic candidate challenging Republican Congressman Darrell Issa in California’s 49th District in the general election, announced today that he has received campaign contributions from donors in all 50 of the states in the United States of America, plus the District of Columbia.

“We have turned the map blue on the FireIssa.com website we created to accept and track our campaign contributions,” said Peiser. "The Congressman's histrionics as Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform accelerated our national grassroots movement to fire him."

Initial contributions were largely unsolicited, but to accelerate them, Peiser initiated an effort his campaign called the "National Mandate to Fire Issa," and they created a website at FireIssa.com.

The website includes noteworthy biographical information Peiser wanted voters to consider; a FireIssa "Action Center," explaining how people can support the campaign; downloadable FireIssa art; and a map of the United States indicating where each contribution had originated, as well as how visitors to the website could contribute to the Peiser for Congress campaign.

“It is unprecedented that a first-time candidate without name recognition has been able to attract contributions from donors in every state in the nation," said Peiser.

The campaign staff recognized the pattern of widespread animosity towards the 14 year Republican incumbent and sought a productive venue to contain that energy. "We put our heads together and came up with our ‘FireIssa project,’ named after our campaign slogan, ‘Fire Issa. Hire Peiser.’ We noticed we had contributions from 25 states so we gathered together about 30 campaign volunteers who were charged with collecting content for our opposition website and social media pages. We weren’t sure we were going to get a contribution from every state; as of Sunday we had four more to go. The final push the Monday before the election made it happen,” said Peiser.

California’s 49th District includes areas of San Diego and Orange Counties, including the cities of San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Ladera Ranch, Oceanside, Vista, Camp Pendleton, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe; and portions of Fallbrook, La Jolla, Del Mar and others.
