Where Is Darrell Issa, and What's He Doing for Us, and Vets in need?

On Flag Day, Congressional Challenger Dave Peiser Asks, "Where Is Darrell Issa, and What's He Doing for Us, and Vets in need?"

Incumbent Darrell Issa’s lack of attention to the needs of constituents shows he's “out of tune, out of town and out of touch.”

(Vista, California) — During a break-time walk near his office, businessman and candidate Dave Peiser gazed at the flags in front of the Vista Civic Center, taking a moment to reflect upon the priorities that led him to challenge 13 year incumbent, Congressman Darrell Issa, and on the history of flag day, which commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777.

“Many have fought under the flag of the United States, many have lost their lives, and many others have been wounded. We have a generation of returned veterans in this district, along with active duty service members returning home every day," Peiser said. "We must implement strategic ways for service members to quickly access needed services.”

“At a time when we should come together to care for those who have served our country, and Veterans are facing massive administrative backlogs, Darrell Issa and the Republican leadership refuse to secure the funds necessary to overcome the barriers to needed care" said Peiser.

In addition to taking issue with Issa's recent vote to block passage of legislation that would have cleared up the paperwork and backlog at the V.A., Peiser lamented the actions of the seven-time congressman, who, he says, “self-servingly grabs national headlines by putting partisan politicking ahead of the needs of those in his district.” Declaring Issa is out of tune with those in his district, Peiser calls Issa "Out of tune, out of town, and out of touch.” As an example, Peiser pointed out that on Primary Election Day, June 3rd, Issa was outside his district, raising money in Huntington Beach for the Republican candidate for Governor.

"In our Pledge we say, with Liberty and Justice for All. We need a government that reflects that pledge, one that works for everyone, not just a privileged few,” said Peiser. “Issa is a member of the power elite who cannot relate to members of the middle and working classes. He’s been in Washington too long. It's time to fire Issa.”

California’s 49th District includes areas of San Diego and Orange counties, including the cities of San Clemente, Dana Point, Coto De Caza, San Juan Capistrano, Ladera Ranch, Oceanside, Vista, Camp Pendleton, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Solana Beach, and Rancho Santa Fe; along with portions of Fallbrook, La Jolla, and Del Mar.
